James Carcel has been a photographer for forty years, using the darkroom and now digital darkroom. James’ early work focused on Philadelphia in the late seventies and eighties. Topics include stores, store fronts, roads, walls, and Americana. James is fascinated by the assortment of things Americans collect, sell, and display. Much of his photography is along the many roads he has traveled, stopping often to capture images we too often pass by. Currently his projects include:  bicycle part collages, odd and unusual store windows, mannequins, junk along the highways, color experiments with various forms and, of course, city walls and street corners.  More…
