Metropolitan Ballet Company, founded by former Pennsylvania Ballet dancer,Lisa Collins Vidnovic, provides the highest quality performance training for pre-professional dancers, performances, and outreach programs designed to promote a love and appreciation of dance in our community. Metropolitan is admired nationally for its Boys’ Scholarship Program which has provided over $1.5 million in tuition-free training to over 370 boys since 1999. Metropolitan dancers have excelled at YAGP, the world’s largest student ballet scholarship competition, and Metropolitan Ballet Academy has received the YAGP Outstanding School Award four times. Metropolitan is also an important launch-pad for choreographers (Jessica Lang, Kanji Segawa, Tommie Waheed-Evans, Maleek Washington) Met alumni are currently dancing with San Francisco Ballet, BalletX, Cincinnati Ballet, Colorado Ballet, and other companies and top trainee programs.
